ABOUT
My name is Charles Thompson and I have been plumbing for over 10 years. I started learning the trade with my cousin who has been plumbing since the early 80’s doing residential service work in Oklahoma. After working with him I joined the Plumber’s and Pipefitters Union Local 344 and started taking plumbing classes in the evening and doing commercial plumbing during the day. Because of my association with the union, I learned many aspects of plumbing many plumbers never get the chance to learn. Everything changed for the better when a woman I dated in my early 20’s called me out of the blue and asked me to come to Tampa so she could buy me a birthday dinner.That progressed into me moving to Tampa and marrying the lady at the end of 2019. Shortly after, I started studying for a plumbing license in Florida. Covid had the effect of slowing down the licensing process. In January 2021, I started Plumbgreat Plumbing. If you have a plumbing need, I can help. We can talk about Love and Politics, but I am a much better plumber.
WHY CHOOSE ME
* I will be doing your plumbing work personally. You will not be getting some kid who just learned to shut off your water.
* Because I am personally licensed. Florida is an odd state in that it only requires the owner to maintain a license. There is no verification of knowledge or competence by anyone but the owner.
* Because I am licensed it means I passed a background check and credit check as well as a very strenuous test of my general plumbing knowledge. The state of Florida has verified me personally.
* I am a very competent plumber. I don’t know everything about plumbing, but I am in constant study and hold many accreditations that the average plumber does not carry. I also spent 4 years in a trade school learning my craft.
* This is just a personal preference of mine, but I don’t smoke or have tattoos on my face so I won’t reek of cigarette smoke or scare your neighbors.

He checked all the valves and fittings and confirmed the tank was bad and needed to be replaced (it was over 13 years old). After discussing the problem and going over some options, he installed a new one for me the same day and hauled off the old one. He even checked the rest of the house for any other issues. Luckily everything else was fine, but it was good peace of mind to get a complimentary inspection from a professional. Plumbgreat lived up to their name. “Charles saved us! We had some family in town over the weekend and on the last day of their stay both of the toilets in our house clogged. We tried a snake, liquid Draino and typical plunging and nothing worked, so I Googled plumbers in the area and his business was one of the ones that came up with solid reviews. I made a few calls and he was the quickest one to respond; got here within an hour of our call. He climbed the roof and used some heavy duty snake to go through the vent and cleared everything right up. He told us ahead of time the cost of service, but since this was my first time calling for a plumber I’m not sure if it was a good deal or not. Regardless, we are grateful he fixed the issue and came out so quickly. I’d recommend him for any plumbing service!”

“This company is fantastic. I’ve never met a plumber who takes such care and ownership of the work they do. The owner Charles helped us out himself with a major backup in our plumbing lines. Our only bathroom (other one under renovation at the moment, NOT a great time for your second bathroom to go out!) was totally inoperable which is not ideal for a household with several young children and Charles came out on a weekend and and worked relentlessly until he got us up and going again. Other plumbers took a quick look and quoted us immediately with the most expensive repair solution, but not this company.
