Your water heater has just started leaking and you need it to stop leaking. So who do you call?

Your tub has three inches of water in the bottom and will not drain. Who do you call?

Short answer: Call me 813-595-3563. Why? I talk to a lot of people who have moved to Florida from another state and do not realize the person that comes to their house to solve a plumbing problem usually does not have a license. Why does it matter? What does it mean when I say I am licensed?

I have had a background check by the state to make sure I do not have criminal behavior on my record. You don’t know me and you may be a female who is calling me off of an advertisement you saw on the internet. Don’t you want to have some reassurance that I am safe?

I have passed some very extensive tests that prove I have some knowledge related to plumbing. This doesn’t mean I know everything, but I have a very good understanding of how a plumbing system should work. Many of the problems that I fix are because somebody has added an addition or remodeled a bathroom or kitchen and didn’t install the plumbing properly.

There are many good sites that will recommend a quality plumber, but I have been thinking about starting a website that lists plumber’s qualifications. This way a customer would have an idea of the qualification of the person showing up at their home. How long have they been plumbing. What licenses and accreditations they posses. What specialties are they trained in. Have they had a background check.

So, when you are calling that “plumber” to come to your home, ask them if the person doing the work is licensed. You will have a much better experience.
